Underlay slippers – an eco-friendly product from Simple Shoes
I’m not a wearer of slippers and just prefer bare feet. Then again, I don’t live in a cool climate so it is not as bad, although a mate of mine takes his shoes off and puts slippers on straight away. Guess who has problems with his feet? No me. That said, if you are looking for a pair of slippers then Simple Shoes offer the Underlay model. Like most of their range they are full of recycled and natural products.
The uppers are felted wool and they are lined in certified organic cotton knit. The outsole is layered natural crepe and all of this is held together with a water based cement. The packaging is just as eco-friendly and with 100% post consumer paper pulp foot forms and box, they are up there with many of the best footwear products.

Don’t buy bottled water, take it from home in a reusable container
That one litre of bottled water probably took about three times as much water to produce and get to your hand. There is the water involved in making the container and not to mention the oil-based ingredients too. Then there’s the transportation costs and most likely the shop refidgeration costs as well. Isn’t it easier to just grab a bottle of water before you leave home? Sure, it’s not always practical, however, for thos times that you can do it, why not do it. Add the fact that at least 25% of the bottles aren’t recycled and there is the added cost to the environment of all these bottled clogging up waterways and ending up floating around the oceans.
